A simple glance into Daniele at Fronwagplatz 7 in Schaffhausen is enough to make your mouth water, for it’s filled with Italian specialities as far as the eye can see. The range covers everything from fresh pasta made daily – including not only tagliatelle, ravioli, and tortelloni with a wide variety of fillings, but also potato gnocchi, lasagne, and spinach polpettone – through to pre-prepared parmigiana di melanzane and small pizzas: All lovingly made by hand, naturalmente!
The shop window also showcases a tempting array of pesto, olives and other vegetables in oil, various different cheeses, cured ham and speciality sausages, as well as (needless to say) dried pasta in every shape imaginable, mixtures of herbs and spices, mustards and sauces, Italian wines, grappas and liquors – not forgetting the balsamic vinegar, white balsamic vinegar condiment and apple cider vinegar produced in Daniele’s very own vinegar cellar in Mühlental, plus the olive oil procured from the same farm in Maremma for over 32 years.
